MPPSC Exam 2021- Know Eligibility, Application, Pattern, Syllabus and Results


MPPSC Exam i.e. Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission Examination, Commission (MPPSC) conducts several examinations every year for recruitment to various posts in government departments and offices of Madhya Pradesh state. Under which applications are invited for the posts of civil services category one and two. The entire examination process is mainly completed in three stages. In the first phase, there is a preliminary (Chhanbin) examination. As per the rules of the Commission (MPPSC), the candidate who succeeds in the preliminary examination is invited for the main examination. The number of candidates appearing for the main examination is fifteen times more than the number of vacancies available and finally, the interview takes place.

The main posts for which the MPPSC exam is conducted. It is like this -


Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Superintendent, Superintendent District Jail, Excise Sub-Inspector, District Registrar, Chief Municipal Officer (Class-II), Assistant Director, Assistant Jailor, District Police Officer, Assistant Director, Child Development Project Officer, Transport Sub-Inspector Is held for the post.

Eligibility criteria

Educational Qualifications

1. Candidate should be a graduate degree holder or have an equivalent qualification from a university or educational institution established by the Central Act or State Act or a University deemed under University Grants Commission 1956 (Notification No. 03 of 1956).


2. Candidates who are studying in the last year of graduation or candidates whose final result has not been received. Those candidates can also appear in the preliminary examination, but it is necessary to present the final result of the graduation examination at the time of the main examination.


3. Candidates who have such professional or technical qualifications. Those who are equivalent to a professional or technical degree recognized by the state government will be eligible for admission to the examination.


Age Range

1. A candidate must have attained the minimum age of 21 years and should not be more than 30 years. Age will be calculated after the advertisement i.e. from 1st January.


2. But the upper age limit for permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh has been set at 35 years, General Administration Department circular no. As per C-3-5 / 2001/3/1 dated 17 August 2004 and for administrative posts of Home (Police) Department, Excise Department, and Jail Department, the maximum age limit will be governed only by the provisions of their recruitment rules.


3. Age relaxation for various categories is applicable as per government rules.


Physical standard

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has set physical criteria for some posts. Before applying, the applicants should ensure that they fulfill the physical criteria of the post for which they are applying. The minimum physical qualification for the MPPSC examination has been set as follows,

Application letter

Madhya Pradesh MPPSC application form will be provided on the official website after the announcement of the Commission. Before filling the application form, the applicant has to read the guidelines carefully. Fill in all the required information like name, address, phone number, and valid email id in the application and submit it.


Upload and submit the scanned photo and signature in the application form. To complete the application form, the candidates have to pay the application fee. Save the registered application form for future reference.


Application fee

1. According to the MPPSC rules, the application fee is applicable for different posts and classes.

2. The application fee can be paid through credit card, debit card or net banking.


Patterns and syllabus

1. Madhya Pradesh PCS Exam will have Preliminary (Investigation) Examination in the first phase.

2. There will be two question papers in this exam, which will be 200-200 marks and each question paper will have 100 questions.

3. The first question paper will be of general studies, where the questions will be from all fields like politics, economics, geography, history, and contemporary events.

4. The second question paper will be of the optional subject which candidates can choose from the subjects given in the official notification.

5. The next part of the exam is the main exam.

6. There will be a total of 6 question papers in the main examination.

7. There will be 2 papers on General Studies.

8. There will be four question papers of any two optional subjects selected by the candidates.

9. Hindi and English will be the language of the question paper.

10. Interview will be 175 marks.


Final merit

The list is calculated by adding all the marks obtained by the candidates in the main and interview examination, such as-

1. Main Examination Total Marks - 1500

2. Interview marks - 175

3. Total of final merit list - 1675
