It was evident that an MBA is a highly sought-after post-graduate degree. More students are taking multiple exams to try and get into a top B-school or land a job.
We have some advice in case you are one of the fortunate ones about to begin an MBA. Take five minutes to read this. If you don't get the most out of your MBA degree, it will be pointless. However, you shouldn't let the course dictate your life.
We found this post from Quora user Deepak Mehta who attended IIM-Ahmedabad. Mehta addresses key points MBA students should remember to avoid regrets. Mehta's ten tips are divided into two sections: Pre-MBA and during MBA.
Important things to remember during your MBA
1.Academics
These two years are your best chance to make the most of everything you have. All classes are welcome. Learn as much as possible. Work smart. Exams don't measure intelligence and ability. They are still the norm, and you must deal with them. You can't afford to lose. Review the papers from previous years. Learn the most important and frequently-asked concepts. Find out the types of questions asked about different subjects - case studies and MCQs. Also, research on calculation-intensive topics. Your preparation plan should be customized accordingly.
2.Co-curricular activities:
You should have a well-rounded resume. Participate in case studies, B-plans, and paper presentations. This will provide a great learning experience.
3.Clubs
Do not over-commit. Learn when to say no or when to walk away. Most people take on more responsibility than they can handle. Please do not do it.
4.Have fun
As with all things, don't let one aspect of your life take precedence over the other. Get drunk with friends, go on spontaneous excursions, and say yes to late-night movies, even if you're exhausted. Friends are always a good thing. You should have at least two years worth of friends.
5.The dreaded social network:
It is okay to have an archaic when you are a student LinkedIn Profile or a Facebook. You will find many stupid things teens do on their social media feeds. Today, recruiters actively search social media profiles for potential candidates. Be careful with your online reputation, especially when applying for placements. Don't let something so random as a website ruin your chances.
