7 KEY MISTAKES TO AVOID DURING CAT PREPARATION

I am often asked about CAT preparation tips and what key mistakes you should avoid. This article will cover the top 7 mistakes you should avoid in your CAT preparation process.

1.It's too late to start:

This is a simple one. This is a common mistake. You should aim to spend at least 3-4 months on testing (ideally, this should occur after you have completed your portion. However, there are other options where you can take both the portion and test together.

2.IMBALANCED PREPARATION

It is important to balance your CAT preparation and distribute your study time between all sections. Avoid these common mistakes:

  1. Do your DI-LR preparation
  2. Exercising Quantitative Aptitude
  3. It is important to not balance your preparation between sections every week. Students often end their weeks with one section unfinished. Balance your weeks between verbal, QA, and DI/LR. You don't have to balance your CAT preparation every day. It is sufficient to balance every week.

3.PLAYING FOR SPEED STRONGAWAY

Before you can improve your speed, learn to correctly answer questions first. Learning to walk is always better than learning to run. Speed would be an automatic outcome once you feel confident answering all questions correctly.

4.DON'T DELAY TESTING TOO LONG

To achieve peak performance in CAT, you will need to spend at least 3-4 months testing. You will not be able to pass your CAT exam if you try to compress your test time.

5.NON-ENOUGH SECTION TEST:

Two levels of testing must be done. Although full-length mock tests are very important, sectional tests are just as important. This is something you need to avoid.

6.NON-ANALYSIS TESTS ENOUGH

It is important to take tests. Analyzing the test results is an important part of your CAT preparation. Most students don't spend enough time after taking the test to analyze their results. Two important points should be included in your CAT Test Analysis.

  • Ask wise questions: Learn the details of each question. To find the right answer, extract the learning process.
  • Analyse behavior and decision making analyze carefully your time investment decisions for each question. Examine the relationship between your time and your attempts during each section. Evaluate your question skipping choices, and analyze the source.

7.DISCIPLINE YOURSELF:

Your CAT Preparation journey is only as good as your faith. Many times, I have seen very talented students lose the race because they lost faith in their abilities. Keep believing in yourself and you will win the most difficult battles against all odds. You can only win the biggest battles in life by having yourself on your side. Online CAT coaching
