Make a mistake with your CAT form

HOW DO I ENTER A PERCENTAGE OF MARKS?

The CAT online application form has a column with 'nnn. nnn' to indicate your percentage of marks. If you score 100%, the first three digits of 'nnn can only be used. Otherwise, you should only use 2 digits.

The percentage must be entered up to 2 decimal digits, as per the CAT online application form. It is not necessary to put a prefix of '0' before entering your percentage of marks.

Correct: 96.50 It's a mistake: 096.50

If you insert the first three digits and then try to write 2, the decimal digits will not be inserted. Instead, the message will read: Insert 2 decimal numbers. It is important to use the correct form for the percentage marks to avoid making this error.

Make a mistake with academic details please enter your education details into the 3rdPage of the CAT online application. In all sections, you will need to enter details such as your marks and any other relevant information. You must enter the required details for classes 10, 12, Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree, and Other Professional degrees.

If any Board/Institute/University awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board/Institute/ University specifying the equivalent marks or the conversion procedure, and the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on this procedure as certified by the respective board/ University/ Institution.

If a board, university, or institution determines that there is not a scheme to convert CGPA into equivalent marks then the equivalence will be established by dividing the CGPA of the candidate by the maximum CGPA and multiplying this result by 100. If you are shortlisted, the original equivalence certificate must be presented at the interview.

Please note that for computing percentages of marks obtained in SSC/10th/Equivalent examination and HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma examination, the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet would be considered irrespective of the Boards regulation.

The percentage of marks that the Board/Institute/ University has awarded to graduates or postgraduates will be considered final. If the Institute/University doesn't award the percentage of marks, the calculation will be based on all marks in the mark sheet.
